Culvert Country: 10:56 proves?

The 10:56 p.m. discovery works extremely well.

What’s currently established:

• Jude leaves the Quick Stop alone

  at 10:40 p.m.

• Wade arrives there

  alive at 10:56 p.m.

• Wade steps from the passenger side of Unit One, the county cruiser Raylene identifies as the vehicle Vance keeps.

• Wade is still wearing his duty hat.

• Three minutes later, Unit One carries Wade toward Cane Creek Road—the direction of Old Monty’s.

• Vance called Raylene asking only about Jude and never mentioned the recording.

• Earlier that day, Vance handled the recorder and told Raylene it was working.

• The manager later found the recorder unplugged and reconnected it.

• Nobody told Vance it had been reconnected. Cal strongly infers that Vance believed it remained dead.

This creates a partial evidentiary route.

Important gaps remain:

• The footage does not prove Unit One reached Old Monty’s.

• The hat does not prove Wade personally entered Old Monty’s.

• The dried blood inside the hat is presumed to be Wade’s but has not been confirmed.

• No evidence directly tracks Wade’s body from Old Monty’s to the culvert.

• The footage does not prove Vance was driving Unit One.

• The footage does not prove Vance killed Wade.

The discovery makes Vance’s connection to Wade’s missing period unavoidable. His behavior toward the recorder also makes his attempt to control the evidence unmistakable, but his involvement in Wade’s death or the original concealment remains unproven.
